Vacation Bible School

Save the Date for Next July!

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a vibrant, week-long event held in July that offers children a unique opportunity to deepen their faith in a fun and engaging environment. Through a variety of activities such as Bible stories, crafts, music, and games, children can explore the teachings of the Catholic Church in a way that is both educational and enjoyable. VBS fosters a sense of community among participants, allowing them to form lasting friendships and grow together in their spiritual journey. This immersive experience not only strengthens their understanding of the faith but also instills values that they can carry with them throughout their lives.

Registrations will begin on May 1st. We have a limited number of spaces so register early!

What does a day at VBS look like?

On Monday through Friday, the day begins by dropping off your child at their classroom between

8:35 and 8:45 a.m. The group activity starts shortly after that. The

classes then cycle through the day stopping at each of the stations,

outside games, crafts, music, possibly a short DVD on the topic of the

day, snacks, and class time. The day finishes at 12pm when guardians

pick up their children from their classroom.

Friday Program

VBS Week ends with mass on Friday at 12:05 and then the children’s singing program. Preschoolers stay in class during the mass and join the children for the sing program.

After the program children return to their classroom with their teacher to collect their crafts and prizes from the week, parents pick them up and enjoy a lunch provided by the parish.

Most likely around 1pm. Please RSVP with Joyce.

What is the Cost and How do can I Pay?

The price is $15 per child, with a maximum total fee of $45 per family. Registration includes a copy of the VBS music for each family, which can be picked up on the first day of VBS. Payments can be made on the parish

donate link under Children's Ministry. In the note section write VBS.

Can I volunteer to help with Vacation Bible School?

Yes, we need your help! Responsible individuals from 6th grade to adults are invited to volunteer for Vacation Bible School. The success of this fun and engaging week depends on the dedication and enthusiasm of our volunteers. To ensure a safe environment, all adult (18 years or older) volunteers must have a current background check and complete the required training.

Volunteer Opportunities

There are numerous ways to get involved as a volunteer for Vacation Bible School! You can help with decorating, assist in the kitchen, lead crafts, organize games, share stories, or bring joy through music. Additionally, we need classroom teachers, co-teachers, and teacher aides to guide and support the children throughout the week. Your unique skills and enthusiasm can make a big difference in creating a memorable and impactful experience for all participants.

Whether you can spare an hour, a day, or the entire week, your help is invaluable to us!

Classroom

Classroom teachers, co-teachers and youth classroom aides help keep the children on track and following the fun schedule for the day.

Story Telling

Children visit this site to hear the daily Bible Story, where the teens can help with the drama for the day.

Crafts

If you are passionate about crafts and want to assist, this is the place for you. The children have age appropriate crafts and you can help them make something fun!

Games

All our games are mostly connected to the daily Bible themes. The leader and teen helpers direct the children through 20 minute game periods that help run off some of that VBS energy.

Kitchen Crew

This team of volunteer adults and teens put together the mid-morning refreshments for our students. They help deliver the snacks to the classrooms, and make sure the children have enough water. Some of the best times happen working in the kitchen!

Photos and Videos

These wonderful people run all over getting the great pictures and videos. These volunteers can capture the best moments throughout the week and/or help create a slideshow that we will all enjoy watching during our Friday program.

Decoration Workdays

Decorating, crafts, designing elements, organizing and turning the classrooms and gathering spaces into the "living adventure" is a huge chore and a lot of fun. Many hands make light work on the Friday and Saturday before VBS starts. Please see the VBS Workday Calendar.
